Here’s how you can dye your own hair – some useful tips
If you find your hair color too boring, want a completely different hair color or want to hide your gray hair, you can of course dye your hair. There are all sorts of reasons why we want to dye our hair.
You can of course have it done by a hairdresser. He knows exactly what he or she is doing, and should things go wrong, they will have to repair it for you in the salon. Coloring your hair at a hair salon is nice and relaxed, but will cost you more time and money. When you go to work yourself, this can save you a lot of money, and it is actually not very difficult! There are a number of points that you should pay attention to when dyeing your hair.
What should you pay attention to if you are going to dye your hair yourself? Or if you let your girlfriend use the paint. You can read our 8 tips below if you want to dye your hair yourself.
Tip 1 – Color numbers hair dye
Useful to know is that the paint colors are subdivided into numbers. For example, extra light blonde is a color number 10 and black is color number 1. See the table for the other color numbers.
You can recognize color nuances by the numbers that you sometimes find next to the basic color for, for example: 5.5.
You can divide the color nuances into different shades such as:
Red, gold, copper, purple, mother-of-pearl or an ash color.
The numbers for the color nuances may differ per brand, but in general they are subdivided into:
.0 Natural shade
.1 As Tint
.2 Mother-of-pearl
.3 Good
.4 Koper
.5 Mahogany
.6 Red
Tip 2 – Tips against green hair
The most common mistake that is made when you dye your hair is creating green hair!
When you have blond hair and you want to turn brown, you have a very quick chance of green hair. This is especially if you use a natural shade of paint. There is a green glow in a natural shade. With the wrong (too light) surface, this glow comes up with your hair dyeing.
Tip 3 – Prevent color difference with your hair dyeing
Avoid a color difference in your long locks. Especially if you have longer lengths, it is very important to first dye your points (the lengths) of the hair and after about 10 minutes you start with the onset of your hair!
Why? Because of the heat from your scalp, the coloring works better, faster and more intensively. The longer lengths of your hair therefore need more time to reach the right color. Always put the lengths first and then start with your onset (scalp). Then comb it well.
Tip 4 – Use thin passes
Pick up thin passe’s. If you incorporate too large passe’s (plucking) with your hair dyeing, it may be that there is not enough paint everywhere on certain areas, so you create forgotten spots. Because you incorporate thin passe’s you know for sure that there will be hair dye everywhere.
Tip 5 – Decolorize: Do or Don’t
With paint you can make your hair about 1 to 2 shades lighter. If you want to dye your hair even lighter, you will first have to discolor your hair .
After a discoloration, your hair color is usually not the desired lighter color. It is often too orange or too yellow. You can compensate for this by applying an ash color in the desired color height. The ash color compensates for the warm copper / yellow colors.
Decolouring affects your quality. Always have a good after treatment to give your hair a boost, like this one.
Tip 6 – Apply carefully
If you dye your hair with a dark tint, the chance of a dark edge along your roots is great, but if you do not use it properly, you have the chance that you have even lighter hairs on the edge and this does not look nice ( as if you have forgotten something) So do not be too modest about using the edge at the onset of your hair. When washing out the paint, you massage the edge of your head with the paint as it were after you have drawn a jet of water over it, with paint you remove the paint, so do this especially in the beginning when you do not have all the paint yet have flushed out.
If you still see a very dark border on your scalp, you can possibly get rid of it by brushing with ash. Yes ash from a cigarette, not very fresh but it works. You moisten a cotton ball a little, dip it in the ashtray and make light circular movements on the skin where paint has been absorbed. Natural hair dye India is available and Color Mate uses nothing but the best organic ingredients to nourish your hair.
Tip 7 – Use gloves and old clothing
Even when you dye your hair blond and your hands and nails cannot take on a dark color, it is useful to wear gloves with your hair dyeing. Hair dye is chemical, your skin can get a reaction to it. If you spill paint on your clothes, you will not get it out in the washing machine. So make sure you wear clothes that you wouldn’t mind if you spill!
We recommend always using an old towel. Despite having washed it, your hair can still give off hair dye.
Tip 8 – The correct exposure time
After you have completely used your hair with paint, set an alarm clock with the indicated time indicated on the instructions for use. Keep this in mind!
Happy Coloring dear ones!
